Comet C/2008 C1 Chen-Gao

These where from MarkD missions. I cleaned them up and stacked them to bring out the comet

Current reports are Mag 12.6 but it seam more defuse than that. I really had to work to bring out any details.

They still look good, Tony! Thanks for sharing. Still hard to believe this was discovered with a standard digital camera.

Chen-Gao is now visible in the 85mm telescope well enough to indicate that it has become a binocular target.

There, it did it again. The date on my previous post is UTC, and the time is EDT. It was posted at 9pm EDT, the 27th or 1:25 UTC, the 28th. 9PM on the 28th doesn't make sense.

I've mentioned this in another forum and was told "that's an option you set". Honestly I don't remember the checkbox on the profile page that says, "Display Bogus Date and Time".

Hi Harold, You have a nice pic of the comet.

Also "the option to set your time" is on the Reserve Mission tab where you set it & where you reserve your missions. "Select Preferred Time Zone: UTC or Local." This is what you will see.

Harold, did you know that Comet Holmes is very near Chen Gao right now? With just the right coordinates, you can capture both in the wide-fields, even D2.

I had three missions reserved to try to capture both, but I messed up and neglected to enter my coordinates in time. Sad
