I have been tracking C/2006 VZ13 LINEAR over the past few months as its been getting brighter and will soon reach perihelion with a project Mag 7.5

My 1st observation was Mag 15.8 April 28 2007. That was when I found the 2nd object moving in the frames.
The top object moving up and down

Great work Tony! Speaking not only for myself, it is wonderful to be able to view other subscriber's astronomy work here at Slooh. Everyone has a different project they work on and sharing it here in the forum helps everyone stay current. No one would be able to do all these projects on their own. It is wonderful to be so connected with everyone. The learning is astounding! Thanks everyone!

looks like some great news, I see that the M1 Mag has been recalculated and its looking like a 7.0 - 7.3.
| Quote: | Re: [comets-ml] C/2006 VZ13
The actual photometrical equation for this comet is :
m1 = 9.0 + 5 log d + 12.0 log r
the maximum brightness for this comet provisional m1(max) = ~ +7.3 .
Best Regards , J.P.Navarro Pina . |
