I like to snap supernovae (type Ia) to measure their magnitude and study their luminosity versus the time. It's my project for the future. Last year, I have some images of the sky with some supernovae; normally, they are very dim objects (magnitude around 15-17) in the glow of a very far away galaxy.
When I reserve my mission, I use naturally a "Coordinate Mission", and then I can choose an optional parameter "Processing"... This parameter has several values : "Generic", "Large Bright Nebula", "Small Bright Nebula", "Large Dim Nebula", "Bright Galaxy", "Small Dim Nebula", "Stars Cluster", "Bright Star". I choose "Small Dim Nebula".
Am I right? Or must I choose another parameter? And what is the effect of that option on the processing of the images?
Thanks in advance,
Jacques. _________________ 50° 44.39' North;

Actually, we are just about to change the presets to coincide with the upcoming release of the Chile HM and AU WF . We will be releasing updated descriptions for the new processing choices soon. In addition, we will let you know which preset is best for your specific mission.
Thank you for your patience. |

Yes a good idea is to test a parameter by oneself... But to have a good test it's necessary to obtain two (or more) missions the same day (weather problem, moon glow) and almost exactly at the same time (same air mass)! That's (actually?) impossible with only one mission per day. Maybe in a very near future?
