well..........

I setup 2 missions to reimage comet 29P

the moving object does not look like a comet. I have check the coords and use neo tracker and it says that its comet 29P

New information Comet 29P is in outburst, this is why the coma and tail are not visible. The comet should at Mag 14 and is now Mag 11.3 Jan 14 .

I imaged Comet 29P 12 Jan Mag 11.2

wow! thanks for the images and animation, Tony!

when was the outburst first recorded? I know this is a regular thing, but if you got the first pictures of it, is there somewhere that you can submit them to? maybe at least as a prediscovery image?

Those are great, Tony! I could swear that tiny star just above the star that is at 12:00 to the comet is moving. But the more I stare at it, the dizzier I get.

This comet sure does resemble a planetary nebula right now, doesnt it.

in studying the animations I see something in the coma. Could it be an out gassing jet?

it moves from about 7oclock to about 2 oclock then in the 3rd frame its not there.

I would think that a out gassing jet would be brighter so Im not sure what its. maybe its refraction from the poor seeing we had during the missions
